Sarah Dillard

I am not lucky. You know what I am? I am smart. I am talented. I take advantage of the opportunities that come my way and I work really, really hard. Don't call me lucky. Call me a bad ass."

About Me

About Me

My name is Sarah and I'm a twenty-something year old trying to explore my many passions through freelance writing. I am Baltimore born and bred, but have recently planted my roots in Nashville, Tennessee. My free time is spent in coffee shops, parks, and local restaurants. I love rainy days and oversized sweaters. My favorite type of music is anything that makes me feel something. My favorite place to be is the airport-- I am either embarking on a new adventure or coming home to the people I love.

I'm an only child, but my friends are my family, so it doesn't really feel that way. I've had several jobs over the years, most of them in restaurants and bars. I have a dachshund sheltie mix who is secretly the key to my heart. My biggest fear is the open ocean; I find movies about getting stranded at sea scarier than any horror film. My bucket list of places to travel is so overwhelming I won't even get started on it. Just know that, wherever you want to go, chances are... I'm totally down to come.

So far, I think I'm doing a pretty good job at faking this whole "adult" thing. I'm not quite there yet, but slow and steady seems to be working for me. I'm definitely still a hot mess, but somehow I'm making it through.

I am looking to tell stories that matter to people that care. I believe there is a story to be told in every day. My interests range from fashion to true crime to international affairs. I am driven by the beauty in humanity, however it presents itself. Writing gives me a type of freedom that allows me to explore so many different fields of interest. It's my one constant in my day to day life.

My goal is to write things that impact society for the better. I want to bring about awareness and change but I also want to entertain and enlighten. Reading and writing were my favorite hobbies as a kid, and I've recently learned that five year old me knew best. I let writing fall to the wayside a bit, but now I know it's what I'm meant to do.

I hope you like what you read.

world into words."
